Ob/Gyn Residency – Month 1

2013-06-26 14.20.41

Sorry I’ve been away so long! Between graduating medical school, moving across the state with 6mo old twins, traveling, welcoming our new Au Pair, Odelia, and starting residency, life has been hectic, to say the least. I can only imagine life will continue to be hectic(-er), but now that I’m back to some what of a predictable routine my goal is to blog more frequently. Not for y’all – I’m sure you didn’t miss me […]

Sponsored Post: 15% Off Scrubs

Scrub Top

15% off at Uniformed Scrubs: 15pbrm I don’t usually do sponsored posts, but very occasionally someone contacts me with a request I feel like will benefit my readers, includes some cool perk for me, and fits well with the themes around here (on that note, BabyGap…I’m not even kidding…my twins. your clothes. this blog. make it happen).  Uniformed Scrubs asked if I wanted to review one of the Dickies Spring Line scrub tops and sent me […]

Life As Of Late

This year is flying by and I am definitely enjoying being a fourth year! It’s almost surreal that I’m over 75% finished with medical school and I’m starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Watching our new MS1 class wander the halls in their tell-tale green Anatomy Lab scrubs makes me a bit nostalgic – it surely doesn’t feel like it’s been over 3 years since I was in their shoes! […]

The Reply-All Button Ruins Lives

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and assume that in 2012 everyone who has an email address understands the difference between a “reply-all” button and a “reply” button. Unfortunately, I am discovering this is not the case and, as such, feel it is my moral duty to inform you all that reply-all can ruin your life (and annoy the snot out of me) when used incorrectly. So, what’s the difference? Reply: […]

Comedic Relief – Funniest College Prank Ever

One night my sophomore year of college I came home from a long shift at Buffalo Wild Wings to find my room had been toilet papered by my friends and roommates. I remember being mad for some ridiculous reason (maybe because I paid for the toilet paper??), but looking back it was quite hilarious. However, nothing quite approaches the level of hilariousness presented in this video. A group of BYU students has taken the cake […]

Dogs That Eat Bugs & Spiders That Eat People

If you know me in real life (or even just read this blog or my Twitter occasionally) you’ve probably figured out that I have three dogs who are equal parts crazy and awesome (and by equal parts I mean 97.4% crazy, 2.6% awesome). They occasionally wreak havoc on the neighborhood, but once in a while will do cool things like keep me from getting a speeding ticket….or save my life when my husband isn’t home. […]

10 Blogging Rules To Follow

Blogging Thoughts

I used to resist referring to myself as a “blogger,” it just seemeds like such a large shoe to fill with people out there who write so much more graciously (and humorously) than I…and often about more important things. I guess after this much time I can start to embrace being called a blogger, even though I still feel a bit like a fraud saying that. Occasionally, people will ask me how to start a blog or […]

Night People Smart, Morning People Happy?

I remember as a kid staying overnight at my grandparents’ house during the summers – the days always seemed to start out with the two of them getting up at (what seemed to me) a ridiculously early hour. They’d sip black coffee and chat and my grandma would fry up some bacon and scramble an egg for my cousin and I when we finally rolled out of bed well after the sun had said it’s […]

A Little Red Change

Red Hair

Do you ever feel like you just need to make a change? Not a big change. I never get the urge to auction my life off on Ebay (all yours for one low price – a Mazda, stressful medical exams, & crazy dogs! BUY NOW)…that’s going too far…especially for someone who gets palpitations thinking about changing blog headers and profile pictures. Just little things. I’m pretty good at neglecting my hair – last year I went […]

Medical School in Canada

Med Ed Monday - Canada

I was recently contacted by Jessica, a 21-year old 2nd year medical student at the University of Alberta in Canada, offering to teach us about Medical Education in Canada! She complete 3 years of undergrad in Vancouver, BC – her focus of study was Microbiology. Jessica runs the blog Atalanta’s Antics and also tells me she’s a film nut, choir director, hockey pseudo-player, actor, pianist and BBC fan. This chick is the dictionary definition of […]

About The Author

I’m an Ob/Gyn resident (that means I went to medical school to become a doctor) and now I'm working like a crazy person to learn my trade before I'm on my own in the wild. Once upon a time I birthed a couple of babies of my own, they're friggin' adorable twin toddlers now. My life story through November 2010 can be viewed here. The events in the many years following can be summed up as wedding bells, books, exams, babies, and doctoring. I only started this blog in hopes of landing a role in a Lifetime movie so I could quit medicine and move to Hollywood, so if you wouldn't take medical advice from Angelina Jolie, you shouldn't take it from me. I may not even be a real person. In fact, I'm probably a spambot. Or possibly a 15 yo boy blogging from a dingy basement. If you're really interested you can read more about me here. If you have any questions or want to guest post contact me.
